Why Intelligence is about Perspective

Whats up y’all,

Whenever we hear people say, “he’s smart” or “he’s so stupid”, the first thing that comes to our minds are that, the person they are referring to is probably has shit grades or he has a low IQ. It seems like in today’s society, grades or IQ is what determines a smart or dumb person. However, in everything in life I prefer to see things from different perspectives to help me understand things more and I realised that calling judging people’s intelligence based on grades or IQ score is very narrow minded. Everyone is different and comes from different backgrounds or circumstances so therefore not everyone had the same upbringing.

Having grown up in two different countries, I’ve met all sorts of different people and observing them made me realise that everyone is intelligent and learn in their unique own way.Albert Einstein was arguably the best scientist ever and regarded as the smartest man ever with such a IQ but then again, he was brought up around science labs and mathematics which he started to learn at an early age.

On the other hand, one could argue that people who balance balls on their head at the circus are also intelligent. This is because it takes years or practice to master as it defies the laws of physics. The way they multitask and balance juggle loads of balls at the same is mind-blowing! but then again isn’t that also intelligence?.

Ignorant people will just discredit it and say they’re just freaks of nature or something along those lines. Now I want you to take a moment and ask yourself what would Albert Einstein do if he was put in Bear Grylls shoes and stranded on an island. Would he able to find his way out of the island with the unforgiving mother nature conditions and deadly creatures with his intelligence? Just a food for thought…
