Holly Fraud

I know this is one of the most cliché sayings but everything has a beginning and an ending. The entertainment industry has been around for a long time but I feel it is slowly losing its creativity which is sad to see especially Hollywood.

I recently heard that they are planning to do a remake of Scarface and this touched some nerves in body. Why ruin a classic movie just for the sake of grabbing money from people’s pockets? They know damn well that the movie will sell out but sometimes it’s better to just let things be and not tarnish the great reputation and ratings the movie has. There is no need for that. (Just for the record thanks Michael Bay for killing the Transformers franchise).

The amount of movie remakes and unnecessary sequels that are being done tells you a lot about where the industry currently is. Movie producers are coming up with dull and uninspired movies with cheesy lines and poor humour which makes you cringe with shambolic plots and predictable movies which make no sense. Great franchises that have had a good and respectable reputation over the last years are being destroyed for the sake of commercialism and gaining money from the consumers’ pockets.

This whole thing just makes me think is the entertainment industry losing creativity? or am I just getting old and losing interest in a lot of things? Who knows but I’m just not impressed with the direction this is going, maybe it’s just a part of me growing up, remember you can’t teach old dogs new tricks.
