I remember when I thought I was going to finish university this year, it was deep especially when people always ask me what I wanna do after university and I don’t even know LMFAO. The thought really hit me like “Damn so after this I’ll be in the real world”. Not gonna lie I wasn’t ready as I still wanna enjoy life a bit more and explore rather than being chucked straight into a 9-5 cycle which is never ending. Imagine doing that whilst still living at home, that would be a nightmare as I hate living at home haha!
It would even be worse if I didn’t find a graduate job as on average 40% of graduates do not get jobs after university, the odds are pretty much 50/50 which is kinda sad. However, this will obviously depend what course you studied.
Thankfully, I got a year placement at a marketing firm so thankfully I’ll be finishing university in 2019 instead of 2018. The good thing is also that it will give me much of higher chance to get a graduate job after university as I will have the upper hand because of the experience in the industry already; so that’s a big positive.
I’m so excited to embark on this learning curve as I will get a taste of what it is like to be working full time 9-5 in the real world. I’ve only been doing it for a week and already knackered but it’s been so great especially the people are so friendly and chilled. It’s so weird not being able to go clubbing in week days so no more Indi Bar and Pryzm nights for me as I used to be a party animal, unless it is just weekends and bank holidays.
Overall, I’m just gonna give my best and enjoy it as much as I can, because in 2 years’ time we’re gonna kiss goodbye to those big nights out and all these memories.
