Marathon not a sprint…

Hi guys, its been a while since I last posted because I was very busy with work and studies but however that is no longer the case so expect regular updates. Now there is something I wanted talk about which affects a lot of people in today’s modern world…

After completing a year long placement, my view changed on 9 to 5 jobs. I used to dread the thought of finishing university then straight away working for someone forever as I call it “25 to life sentence”. In today’s world, there are more opportunities more than ever and quicker to get richer than ever as well. Some of us see these young traders or these creative entrepreneurs who are almost overnight millionaires who work from home some bragging and some just reinforcing the message that you should be your own boss which subconsciously pressures some people into thinking that if you work for someone, you are not a success.

Whilst working for yourself is something that we should all aspire to, there is absolutely nothing wrong with working for a company and not being your own boss. People are different, some of us are destined to be our own bosses and some are destined to work for other or companies but the most important is whether people are meeting they’re personal goals.

If someone is chasing goals and they are not yet where they want to be they should not be embarrassed or dejected, that’s completely fine. Working a normal job is something they can use as a stepping stone and something to fall back on until they get they’re dream job. This especially goes for young graduates and overqualified adults who can’t find a job in this harsh and competitive market these days. Keep your head up, whether it takes 5 months or 5 years it doesn’t matter, its not about the journey, its about the destination. Think of it in a way such as we are all in a parallel universe and where we are in different situations but however we will all get there in the end no matter how long it takes.
