Why you should use your diary more often than you think

Hi guys just wanted to share some knowledge about something which greatly improved my productivity…

Previously I used to be one of those people that had a sporadic routine where I would just live my life with no plans or goals. I used to find writing things down or planning them pointless as I was overconfident on relying on my good memory but then again things would change…

When I started a full-time job, I realised that I was living in a mess, I had no direction and I would often come home tired and just “coast” through life. Days kept going by as I was piling on the pounds, messy room and an empty kitchen basically living like a first-year university student.

This is the point when I realised my life had no direction and needed a drastic change as I was constantly just becoming bored and burnt out. I also kept forgetting small day to day things such as groceries instead of just writing them down which was frustrating. This felt like I hit rock bottom.

I always used to find those motivation videos of “setting goals” (you know those type of videos), cheesy and just full people waffling until I decided to give this a try. I decided to make a change and make a timetable and used the task manager on my phone for the first ever to plan meals, exercise, diet and daily tasks and I stuck to this plan.

Suddenly, I had a turn around in my life and instantly became so organised. I felt like my life was going in a direction and I instantly became revived again. I started meeting my daily targets for tasks to do which felt like mini milestones and I was very proud of this as I felt a sense of achievement which made more confident day by day as I now feel like I can overcome any obstacles.

If you do not have any routine or plan and need a direction in your life setting a daily routine is the best thing you can ever do!
